I am looking for something to replace my Sony Clie (Palm OS) and ran across a post on engadget.com about the Nokia N810. It seems like a really cool device. Claims to be able to connect to the internet via WI-Fi and your cell phone via the blue tooth connection.
They claim it will run a Virtual Palm OS and applications.

Republicans got lost and paid the price.
Secret prisons, secret phone and email tapping, loss of civil rights, reducing non-citizens to 2nd class citizens with no legal rights, a war based on lies and an arrogant president finally added up.
Even members of their own party voted against them. Hope they get the message.

This morning I logged and started up firefox. For some reason it lost all my bookmarks and reset all the settings for the plugins. This is the end of the road for me regarding using firefox.
All I wanted is a browser that does tabs. The fact the anyone can create a extension sounds good, until one of them messes up all your settings and you can’t get it back, again.
I am going to try Opera at opera.com and then wait for IE to introduce tab’s.

I ran across this online at the London Times Does this mean that the limbo dance is also vanishing ? Lets ignore this pointless religious edict as it has not bearing on life on this planet.

CNN reports that "sleep inertia" leaves some people so groggy,
after they wake up, they might as well be drunk, researchers said on
Tuesday. "For a short period, at least, the effects of sleep inertia
may be as bad as or worse than being legally drunk," said researcher
Kenneth Wright of the University of Colorado at Boulder

DefenseLINK News is reporting that ‘troops conducting urban operations soon will have the capabilities of superheroes, being able to sense through 12 inches of concrete to determine if someone is inside a building.’ By simply holding the portable, handheld device named a “Radar Scope” up to a wall, users will be able to detect movements as small as breathing. The Radar Scope hopes to eventually give troops the ability to see up to 50 feet beyond a concrete wall to decrease losses in urban combat.
Not just for the military, local police are going to want one soon, as well as burlary, assisains and other nefarious folks.

Good news, the renewal of the so called Patriot Act has stalled, hopefully it will stay that way.

It is sad that the people we are supposed to trust to defend us are our own worst enemies. Time to take a stand against those who would reduce our civil liberties.

Weblog Usability
To have a blog that performs well, there are certain things to keep in mind, and Jakob Nielsen over at Useit.com has come up with a list of the top ten design mistakes.
1. No Author Biographies
2. No Author Photo
3. Nondescript Posting Titles
4. Links Don’t Say Where They Go
5. Classic Hits are Buried
6. The Calendar is the Only Navigation
7. Irregular Publishing Frequency
8. Mixing Topics
9. Forgetting That You Write for Your Future Boss
10. Having a Domain Name Owned by a Weblog Service
The ones I most agree with are the first two. One of the things I do once I realize “hey, I like this blog” is to see who wrote it. Its very frustrating, especially on more personal type blogs, to not know who I am reading.
Check out all the details of the list at useit.com
